Welcome to Candy Budz! I’m Charles De Torre, Founder of California Candy Kitchen and inventor of Candy Budz. I’d like to share our delicious history with you. Back in October of 2016 I began thinking about a new novelty product based on conversations I’d had with some dispensary owner friends in LA, a stylized cannabis flower gourmet chocolate treat. I began experimenting with textures, colors, ingredients, molding each individual treat by hand. Through trial and error by the end of the year I had something to “taste test” with my dispensary friends and their friends. It being LA, we even ran some samples past a few Southern California artists after the beginning of the new year. The first large batches of our literally home-made chocolate treats were made in my kitchen in April of 2017. Humble beginnings for sure, but the response was so tremendous I found myself overtaking the family kitchen until my wife kicked us out in May. So we headed to my ex-wife’s kitchen – until she kicked us out just a few weeks later. Since then, we’ve grown into and out of four additional locations, and our growth spurt isn’t slowing down anytime soon. But we still make each delicious treat with the same hand-molded techniques, utilizing the finest ingredients, as I did with those first treats in 2016.
Today our Candy Budz gourmet chocolate treats are made fresh daily by hand right here in Southern California. We currently offer six flavors; original chocolate, banana, blueberry, strawberry, grape and peanut butter, and you can get your chocolate in four sizes; a 1.7 oz Snack Jar, a 1/2 Lb bag, 1 Lb bag and 5 Lb bag.
